Have a blessed and safe weekend everyone ~Leah :)
I can think of many songs to write about for five minutes. But, for some reason the word “day “cames to my mind. Because, I often think during mid- noon. That, I wish, I could press replay and never let the day or evening end. I do this mostly when I’am having a great day or a day off of work.
It’s when I think of minutes and seconds like precious songs. I believe that in, those moments, that I should listen and feel the harmony of each of them. Perhaps, I might seek my friends to replay the course of my day. Or, maybe, I’ll post on Instagram what my heart is singing.
As the song of God’s good blessings caresses my eyes to my soul. Because, we are free given this day. A day, though, sometimes maybe not everyday seems like a present. But, each day I will get up, Live, a finds ways to create my days endearing song.
Hello, everyone it’s http://lisajobaker.com/2013/05/five-minute-friday-song/ here we write for five minutes and post what we have written unedited. The prompt word for today is song. She often peeked beyond where she sat, Wishing and wanting to leave and go to the big city. A city , that seemed a stones throw. But, she was to scared to throw one to be sure. So, she sat there on the wooden planks of the dock. Just wishing, while dipping her feet in the water. while checking to see how full the crawfish trap were. She tried telling herself how comfortable she was where she was at. In small town in Texas town nearest a bigger town.
She and her bother James, had a tackle & boat rental shop. Located next to the lake. Lucky for them, the weather permitted the use of the lake all the year round. Besides, she thought, Luke Hassey went to the city for work and came back just as quickly as he received his job right after college .
Her admiration for him at the time, he told her about getting the job at the advertising firm in the city. Caused her to fall even further in love with him. Not, because he would be making a lot a lot money. But, because despite his parents, friends and locals, nays say. He went anyway. Rather, than staying and being comfortable on his family’s now organic farm.
Besides that, he stood up to his family for wanting to date a light skin creole girl, that was her. His family and friends didn’t want his first love, nor possible grand babies to be mixed. Not, that they were prejudice. They just were stuck in old ways, no matter how the world evolved outside of their town.
But, she thought as she looked down at the mucky water. His courage was short lived as far the city went. Though, she would never admit to him that she had lost, some of her admiration for him. However, she still loved him regardless, if smelled of crap instead of expensive cologne when he picked her up for dates.
It was during one these dates that he admitted, he chicken out in the city. He told her he wasn’t use to the fast pace of the city and it’s people were too aggressive. He didn’t like the high rise apartment they put him. He told her his apartment was empty, cold and unauthentic. He ,also told her, that the town was big, but all cement, gray metal and the trees were shipped in from California.
She , could only mange to a sympatric smile for him after he admitted those things. Never once did she show her disappointment. She didn’t want him to know, she felt he hadn’t really tried. Because, he was only gone for three in a half weeks.
She, thought of this as she wishfully looked at the city. And, she begin to think more to herself. She, was thinking had been chance , she wouldn’t have given up so soon. With that she stood up dusting her sundress and forgetting the crawfish basket. As she picked up a book she was reading.
,Before setting off to the boat & tackle shop, to join her bother. she opened her book, to check if a paper she had placed in it’s pages. Was still safely tucked in. When, she saw it , it felt like something magical was contained in it. she could almost feel her face glow as a smile spread across her face. She shut, the book and quickly to join her bother, who began to watch her curiously.
