Doesn’t this tree look as though it should be in some sort of whimsical story. A huge tree where butterflies sleep under each of it’s overgrown mushrooms. Where they are truly in bed within the coziness of it’s bark. At which they’re comforting baby caterpillars in order for them to grow wings for their tomorrow, which is in spring.
I wanted to take a full length picture of the trees and found this little spirit while doing so. ( this picture was taken today 10/17/12 #truth. #what autumn looks in some places out here)
Welcome to my world. Sort of. Well, maybe not so much a tree and living in a fungus.

These look like trees in my California desert retreat. I’ve a series of barks like this. Gorgeous.
